What are brands actually allowed to do about reviews?

The line between review strategy and review manipulation is thinner than most decks admit.

One bite: the essentials1 min readAll Protect bites

The prohibited list is long and strictly enforced: paying or gifting for reviews, asking only happy customers to review, reviews from staff, family or anyone with a stake, and contacting reviewers to change or remove what they wrote. Amazon suspends accounts and deletes review histories for all of it.

What is allowed: Amazon Vine, the official early-review programme for new products, the request-a-review button, and package inserts that invite honest feedback without conditions. Removal requests are limited to genuine abuse, and succeed less often than frustrated teams hope.

The practical strategy is unglamorous: an accurate listing that sets honest expectations, a product that meets them, and fast customer care when it does not. Ratings follow operations.

Reading about it is the slow way.
