Why does new stock take weeks to go live?

A delivery to Amazon is not one event but a pipeline: a booked appointment, a receiving dock, check-in and scanning, then placement. Amazon routinely splits inbound stock and transfers it between fulfilment centres around the country before all of it shows as available. Each stage has a queue, and in busy periods the queues stretch.
The planning consequence is simple: replenishment lead times must include Amazon’s own internal lag, not just your carrier’s. Brands that cut it fine go out of stock while their own inventory sits in a transfer trailer. Sending earlier, and replenishing little and often rather than in occasional large drops, keeps availability steady and avoids betting the month on a single check-in queue.
